If you're new to online dating, it can feel overwhelming to know which site to try.

If you're an old pro, you may just feel jaded that none of them work!

This is why I really liked this research study that analyzed 68 different online dating sites, taking into account factors such as web traffic, dating expert advice, and algorithms. (Note: Because of the difficulty in studying web traffic with app-only dating sites, sites like Tinder were left out of this study.) Then they had a straight, white woman, in her late 20s, test out the top four: Match.com, OkCupid, Plenty of Fish, and eHarmony. One of the things this study compared was the quality of messages received, from bad, to mediocre, to good. This in and of itself is a fascinating component of online dating to reflect on, and how so many messages sent are of poor quality. There are a lot of really juicy details in this study and I recommend that you read the whole thing if you're doing online dating!
