Being Mindful

You know, I want to meditate, every day, really I do. But I quickly get caught up in the doing that I forget to pause and just be. I swear, the past two mornings that was my intention to rise early, sit quietly, and meditate. Yesterday, I was cold, so I went for a run instead. This morning I wasn’t cold, but my sister walked in and interrupted me. Sure, I guess I could have (should have) asked her to join me, but I didn’t. So I’ll try again tomorrow.
What I have been able to do is stop every now and then, and sense, pause, fully engage all of my senses and enjoy and appreciate. This helps, so I’m not breezing mindlessly through each day, each week, or my life.
Oh, and my yoga practice helps me to stop too.
